Biography

Jeong Hyun applies her extensive engineering and business background to practicing U.S. patent ‎law in the electrical and mechanical engineering field. She has experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, patent counseling, and handling patent appeals and other proceedings in the United States Patent and Trademark Office, as well as experience in counseling clients in various aspects of patent portfolio management. She has broad exposure in a variety of technology areas, including wireless data communications, telecommunication networks, signal processing technologies, digital rights management and user interface in mobile devices, internet ‎and e-commerce, wireless power technology, semiconductors, and battery charging systems for automobiles. Jeong Hyun also has counseled and represented clients, including major multinational companies, in all aspects of patent prosecution and opinion work concerning infringement and validity. Jeong Hyun's broad and in-depth experience and knowledge in the field of patent law make her well-suited to handle patent infringement and validity case analysis and opinions and post-grant review proceedings.

Prior to joining PV Law, LLP, Jeong Hyun worked at renowned boutique IP law firms in D.C. Before Jeong Hyun became an attorney, she worked as an engineer in the patent departments at major technology companies in Korea where she was responsible for developing and overseeing prosecution of patent applications in various fields of technology including MPEG, Digital TV, DVR/DVD Player, computer software, and computer implemented business methods.
